Analisis Kesalahan Pelafalan Chouon dan Sokuon Pada Peserta Lomba Roudoku Tingkat SMA/SMK Sederajat di Yogyakarta
Abstract
In the Roudoku competition, participants are required to master Japanese pronunciation and intonation, although they often face difficulties in pronouncing long vowels (chouon) and geminate consonants (sokuon). This study aims to analyze pronunciation errors made by high school and vocational school participants in Yogyakarta. A qualitative descriptive method was used, with data collected through video recordings and pronunciation transcripts. The findings reveal that most participants were unable to correctly pronounce chouon and sokuon. Of the 10 chouon words analyzed, only four were pronounced correctly, and none of the 10 sokuon words were pronounced correctly. These findings are expected to provide insights for educators to improve pronunciation teaching methods and assist learners in enhancing their language skills, leading to more effective learning approaches.
