STRATEGI TURN-TAKING DALAM PODCAST “CLOSE THE DOOR” DALAM WAWANCARA DENGAN NAS DAILY (NUSEIR YASSIN)

Abstract

The tittle of this study is “Turn-taking Strategies in the Close the Door Podcast within Interview with Nas Daily (Nuseir Yassin)â€. This study aims to identify type and function of Turn-taking strategies used in the podcast. Inductive analysis and observation are the technique used for data collecting. The research method used in this study is qualitative descriptive with Conversation Analysis approach. The writer collected data by watching and downloading, transcribing, writing the type and function, quoting several sentences, creating a conversation script, providing an explanation regarding the function and type. The results indicate eight type of Turn-taking strategies in the Close The Door podcast: Transition Revelance Place (TRP), pause, overlap, back-channeling signals, turn- yielding signals, turn-maintaining signals, repair, adjacency pairs. The study also found one dominant type of Turn-taking strategies mostly used that is pause. Additionally, It was found that Pause can be categorized as a type of Turn-taking strategy that influences speakers in responding and answering other speakers. This research has the potential to provide new insights for those interested in understanding the function and type of each Turn-taking strategy in podcasts.
